The Buffalo Beauts have made their first signing for the 2020-21 NWHL season. The club re-signed leading scoring Taylor Accursi earlier on Thursday. Accursi will be entering her fourth season as a member of the Beauts. She joined the club for the 2017-18 season after turning pro following her college career.
Accursi led the Beauts in scoring with 25 points (16-9-25) in 24 games this past season. Her 16 goals were good for fourth in the entire NWHL. With 42 points (26-16-42) in her career, Accursi is tied with Corinne Buie and Kourtney Kunichika for most points in Beauts history.
Accursi had a banner night on the big stage earlier this winter. She had a four-goal game in the Labatt Blue NWHL Buffalo Believes Classic outdoor game against the Metro Riveters. That was the first outdoor game in NWHL history. Accursi was selected to play in the NWHL All-Star Game for the first time in her career this past season. That game took place in Boston.
“Buffalo and the Beauts have been really good to me for the past three years, so it made sense to come back and have fun playing in a great league, surrounded by outstanding players, teammates and especially our fans,” Accursi said, per the league. “Having the opportunity to once again represent something so much bigger than myself made it an easy decision to return to the NWHL and continue the growth of women’s hockey.”
Prior to joining the Beauts, Accursi played four seasons with Mercyhurst University. She capped her career with a career-high 23 points in 2016-17, her senior season.
